Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This policy explains what information TruckerOutpost.com collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. TruckerOutpost.com is operated by DOT Services of America LLC (“we”, “us”). It covers www.truckeroutpost.com and the TruckerOutpost.com Command Center at app.truckeroutpost.com.
TruckerOutpost.com is not an insurance agency or a government agency.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Free check and tools: the USDOT or MC number you enter, plus anything else you type into a tool, such as the number of trucks or your costs.
- Forms: your name, email, mobile number, company name, USDOT number, number of trucks, what you need help with, and any message you send.
- Quote requests: the details above, plus your consent choice. We store the exact consent wording, the time, your IP address and the page you were on.
- Chat: what you type in the website chat. Our chat assistant is an AI. It answers general questions and hands off to a person when needed.
- Command Center account:
- your name, email, mobile number, password (stored encrypted, never visible to us), role and USDOT number
- anything you add to your account: dates, policies, saved loads, lanes, reports about brokers
- your profile, if you choose to fill it in: CB handle, photo, cover image and Rig Card
- Channel 19 and community features: posts, replies, photos, reactions, poll and trivia answers, convoy activity, and reports you make. Photos are re-saved before they’re stored, which removes location (GPS) and camera data.
- Referrals: if someone signs up using your referral link, we link the two accounts so Outpost Miles can be awarded.
Information about your carrier from public records
When you enter a USDOT or MC number, we look up public records about that carrier. This includes authority status, safety and inspection data, fleet size, and the insurance filing on record (insurer and effective date). The data comes from the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and from a commercial data provider that compiles public FMCSA filings. We also show weekly diesel prices from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Those prices contain no personal information.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the date and time.
- Cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms from spam.
How we use information
- To run the free check and tools, and show you results.
- To create and run your Command Center account, including reminders you ask for.
- To answer your questions and requests.
- To send emails you asked for, such as account emails, date reminders and newsletters. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the site safe: rate limits, spam protection, moderation of Channel 19.
- To improve the site and tools.
Calls and texts. We only call or text you about insurance, or send automated messages, if you tick the consent box on the form that says so. That consent is never a condition of buying anything. You can withdraw it at any time by replying STOP or emailing us.
When we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share it only:
- With a licensed insurance agency, if you ask for a quote and tick the consent box.
- We pass your request to the licensed partner agency named on the form.
- Until a partner agreement is in place, requests are held and not sent anywhere.
- Only a licensed agent gives quotes or coverage advice. We don’t.
- With our partner brands, only if you tick the box asking to hear from them.
- With service providers who run parts of the site for us, under contracts that limit their use of the data. They include:
- hosting (ScalaHosting)
- email delivery (Amazon Web Services)
- our customer database and email-list software, which we host ourselves
- website chat software
- our AI chat assistant’s model provider
- team messaging, for internal alerts
- the carrier-data provider
- When the law requires it, or to protect people, our users or the site.
- If the business is sold or merged. The buyer must keep this policy’s promises.
Public content
What you post in Channel 19, and your driver page, is visible to other signed-in members. Your privacy switches control whether your rank, Rig Card, company name and leaderboard position show. Don’t post anything you want kept private.
Connected AI apps
You can choose to connect an AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to your Command Center account. When you do:
- The assistant can see only what its tools return, such as your deadlines, carrier snapshot and saved loads, and only when you ask it something.
- That information is then handled by the AI provider under its own terms and privacy policy.
- You can see and revoke every connected app at any time in My profile › Connected apps.
- Other members’ information is never shared through these tools. Broker pay reports are shown only as totals.
How long we keep information
- Account data: while your account is open. You can close it at any time.
- Leads and requests: as long as needed to answer them and keep business records, normally no more than 3 years.
- Cached carrier lookups: refreshed automatically, generally within 24 hours.
- Backups: kept for a limited time.
Your choices and rights
- Update your profile and privacy switches in the Command Center at any time.
- Unsubscribe from any marketing email with one click.
- Ask us to see, correct or delete your personal information. Email support@truckeroutpost.com. We’ll answer within 30 days.
- We may need to confirm it’s you.
- Some records we must keep by law.
- Depending on where you live (for example California, Virginia, Colorado or other states with privacy laws), you may have more rights. These include the right to know what we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of sale or targeted advertising. We don’t sell data. Contact us to use any of these rights.
Security
- Pages are served over HTTPS.
- Passwords are stored encrypted.
- Access to our systems is limited to people who need it.
- No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we’ll notify you as the law requires.
Children
The site is for trucking businesses and adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll tell signed-in members.
